When America's Promise was created by General Colin Powell in 1997, Bank of the Rockies did not hesitate to combine forces with thousands of other banks across the nation to help improve the lives of our youth.
America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of our nation's youth by aiming to provide these young people with access to the five America's Promise Fundamental Resources needed in order for them to lead happy, healthy and productive lives. Those five promises are:
1. An ongoing relationship with a caring adult - mentor, tutor or coach.
Bank of the Rockies' staff members and their families are actively involved in their local schools and communities and serve as 4-H and scout leaders, coaches, volunteers and much more.
2. Access to safe places and structured activities during non-school hours.
Bank of the Rockies works closely with local schools and youth organizations and through volunteerism and financial contributions, seeks to help meet this promise.
3. A healthy start.
Bank of the Rockies fully supports the efforts of local schools, medical facilities and public health organizations to insure our youth have proper immunizations and are provided with proper nutrition and learn at an early age about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
4. A marketable skill through effective education.
Bank of the Rockies is very active in helping educate our youth on the importance of the future by providing learning tools, scholarships and teaching them the importance of good, sound financial skills for their future. As an example, visit the Kid's Corner page.
5. An opportunity to give backthrough community service.
Bank of the Rockies, through their continued contributions and community service provided by staff members, hopes to instill in our youth the importance of giving back to the community that gives so much of itself to their growth.
